The World Hockey League is a fictional hockey league featuring mostly fictional players that has been running since the late 1990s. From about 1997 to 2000, the league was played in miniature seasons lasting about two weeks long. This means that the official founding season of the league is the 1969-70 season. The league was originally made using a Lego arena with Lego minifigures until the end of the 2004-05 season. Since the 2005-06 season the league has been played using the EA Sports NHL series.
